WE HAVE ALL BEEN HERE AND IT IS NOT FUN! Can’t get out of bed, can’t eat, can’t sleep, dreading answering your calls, waking up wanting to throw up…yup, you are going through a breakup. Being completely inspired by my own breakups and the fact that I have had amazing friends by by side through ‘em all, I decided to write a post to help you get your BFF out of her ‘breakup rut” and to smiling again. Little tokens of love show your BFF that she is better off without that piece of you know what and it’s time to move on and remember how fabulous she is!

For beginners, some people don’t do well with reacting to sadness so being able to show someone how much you care for them is something so special and important. Of course, all the girls are showing up and the doorman is pointing right to the elevator because he knows everything about your life buttt…that’s a whole other post! It’s time to gather the troops and make your BFF smile again!

Bottles bottles bottles ice cream ice cream ice cream. Vino, patron, vodka, chunky monkey, cookies and cream, half baked. Whatever is her poison, get loads of it!

Care package. I just love the idea of getting your friends favorite things together and putting them in a cute, little bag. It can be items as small as her favorite candies or movie on DVD, coloring books in case she is unable to leave her bed that day, and even pictures of the hot, single men you want to set her up with! The thought is oh so sweet! And the last one will for sure get her mind off the breakup!

Show up with her favorite food or cook her a meal.  Many times women can not eat when they are that upset so if you choose to bring something or offer to cook for her, just know that she may tell you she won’t eat it…but she eventually will…at some point…once she is able to stomach the fact that its O.V.E.R.

Write her a card with a little stuffed animal attached. I am a huge card person when there is any occasion and this one surely should not be forgotten! I surprised one of my best girlfriends with a card of encouragement during one of her bad breakups  just to tell her I love her and she cried when she read it.

Take that hot mess and put her in a hot dress. If you are able to get her out of bed and convince her to dance off her stress, make sure to promise her that cocktails and hot men are obviously involved! That will make her move faster if she is down.

Get her a gift certificate to the spa. Breakups are so stressful and take such a toll on your mental well being. Booking her a nice massage or getting her a gift certificate to the spa would show her you know how much pain she is in and how much you understand that she needs to relax. And hey, a couples massage between best friends is always an A+ in my book!
