“If I don’t have time to make it to the gym or don’t want to workout outdoors, or if I just want to change things up, I’ll pop in a DVD,” says Healthy Living Expert and Registered Dietitian, Corinne Dobbas, MS, RD. “Remember, it’s about finding what works best for you. And for the super busy person, workout DVDs may be a great option. You just need to find ones that you like. I’m a fan of super-intense workouts.”
Here are a few of her favorites:
Bob Harper Ultimate Cardio Body. This is an awesome DVD. You’ll find your heart pounding, breath rasping, and yourself thinking, “How can I be so tired from a DVD?!” I love it.
Jillian Ripped in 30. A life-saver! Do one 30-minute workout for a quickie or do two for a full-one hour sweat session. I like doing workouts 2 and 4 together. I think they’re the hardest.
Bob Harper Cardio Conditioning. They say it’s just cardio, but it’s a lie! It’s total body, which is awesome. I love this one just as much as Ultimate Cardio Body!
Jillian’s Extreme Shed n’ Shred. Great DVD. I like doing the whole thing (an option on the menu), since the 1st workout, I feel, is kinda an intense warmer-upper and then the 2nd comes in for some serious sweat!
Jillian’s Shred-It with Weights. I adore this DVD! I do workout one + two together for an intense 50-minute workout. You feel like you really got worked! Plus, the time totally flies by! Note: it’s a kettlebell workout, but you can use regular hand weights.
Bob Harper Pure Burn Super Strength. I’m totally digging Bob, and I’m totally digging this strength workout. It’s total body and still has some elements of cardio in there for all you cardio junkies (yes, I raise my hand too!).
